Big In Japan
I took the editing show on the road for the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo. As part of the creative & social media team we were tasked not only with creating social content for the show but also with preparing the press release footage. Live events always get the blood pumping and this was an amazing work, life, and cultural experience.
Also, there is no way I’m taking a trip all the way to Japan and NOT somehow immersing myself in the car culture. I rented out an R34 Nissan Skyline GT-S and headed down to Daikoku Parking Area in Yokohama, where car enthusiasts have been gathering since 1989.
Show Me The Numbers
Culture Rated is Amazon Prime’s platform for Black voices and stories. When launched, Prime wanted to increase the platform’s social media awareness. Working with the Robeson Parks agency, we were able to take their social accounts from 49k combined followers on Instagram and TikTok, to now 615k followers on IG and 2.9M followers on TT.
From showcasing culturally significant films & series to creating daily content in response to the day’s trends, numbers like these are not possible without having your pulse on the culture. Robeson Park’s ultimate goal was to build trust, because the community can recognize when the content being served is just performative and not an actual celebration of the culture.
I’m always proud when my work in any way, shape, or form, can help build a brand AND service the Black and Brown community. You know the work is authentic when your edits are organically reposted by those in the culture like Big Boi, Lena Waithe, Nathan Mitchell, Giancarlo Esposito, Erykah Badu, Doechii, Can Newton, and Wood Harris.
Best Editor
Mid-2024 I had the opportunity to help edit a short film. Projects like these don’t often come my way so I took it as a chance to explore, try, and push creatively. I channeled my inner Spike.
When the film left the cutting room floor to be shopped around the awards circuit, I am proud to say that it came away with 15 semi-finalists nods and 9 wins. One of which was for Best Editing at the 2025 Sacramento Independent Film Festival.
Health Is Wealth
I've been immersed in healthcare work for years and 2025 was no different. I helped New Yorkers get the home care they needed with VNS Health, celebrated 125 years with St. Bernard's, and recently helped land a major regional health care provider on a new biz pitch. How can Dr. Zeus help you in 2026?
Anotha One
We can’t stop making babies! In September Javier Grey joined the crew turning our family of 4 to a family of 5. And now, "let the wild rumpus start!”
Progress!
Progress has be been slooow on my 2001 Subaru Forester project car, but I finally got it off the jack stands!
After getting my very own garage to work out of, I fell victim to the “while I’m in here“ trap. Now, no part of the car has been left untouched. From custom one-off 3D printed headlights to self-designed and fabricated aero parts, it has come a long way. But the work continues!
Maybe the next Zeus update will include a first start vid? Whatever comes down the road for this project, my desire is to one day work my love of everything automotive into my editing career.
